Metal & Steel Processing
The continuous casting operations distribute water to hot wells, cold wells, and cooling towers that cool the jacket molds and metal products. During this process, it is inevitable that dirt particles enter the system. Dirt clogs the spray nozzles, thus reduces the heat exchangers’ ability throughout the entire cooling system. If this happens, it can totally affect the formation and consistency of the metal. It can cause spotting and breakout on the finished product that can result to an unscheduled maintenance shutdowns.
Unscheduled shutdowns can cause a considerable product and profit losses. Additional sensitive spots in the metal processing include cooling and lubrication, ion exchange, heat treatment, pickling, process monitors, pump gland seal, river and lake water intake, and more.
WATERGUARDph® self-cleaning water filters provide the best solution for dirty water. The filters are self-cleaning and run in line pressure. They are compact in size and are very easy to install, even in existing systems. They are always online even during the 5-10 second rinse cycle.
